At the Intermediate School Level, College and Career Readiness (CCR) focuses on the following key areas:

• Planning and Developing Future Goals
  • Begin setting goals and aspirations for your future success.
  • Identify your unique interests and strengths.
  • Discover various career paths that align with your skills and passions.
• Connecting Interests and Aptitudes to Course Selection
  • Understand how your interests and abilities can influence your academic journey.
  • Choose courses that align with your future career and educational goals.
• Introduction to Financial Planning & Post-High School Educaton
  • Learn the basics of financial planning for your education.
  • Gain insight into different post-high school options such as college, trade schools, or vocational training.

College & Career Readiness Activities for 7th Graders

To help students gain a clearer vision of their future, we incorporate hands-on, engaging activities that support career exploration and goal-setting.

• YouScience Interest and Aptitude Assessments
  • Students will complete a YouScience assessment during CCA (College and Career Awareness) class to identify their strengths, interests, and potential career matches.
•  Group Lessons on Financial Planning & Future Goal-Setting
  • Students will participate in interactive lessons that introduce concepts of  saving, and planning for college and career success.
•  Understanding How Course Selection Impacts Future Plans 
  • Students will gain a better understanding of how the courses they choose in middle and high school can influence their future college and career opportunities.

CCR Conferences – Easier Than Ever!

Counselors will meet with every 7th-grade student to help them develop a College and Career Plan that will guide them through their middle and high school years. This plan will be shared with both the student and their parents via email.
