Principal's Message:

Dear Students and Parents,

We are now into the third trimester of the 2011-2012 school year.  Before long, we will be looking at summer days and wondering where the time went.  I hope you are happy with your effort and progress here at Sunrise Ridge.

We have some wonderful end of year activities.  On April 23rd, we have planned a school wide “Tour of America”.  This celebration will focus on this great country and the amazing art, music, culture associated with different areas.  Students will travel to five different areas to participate in activities, sample food, enjoy music and dance, and learn more about these regions.  We will finish with a closing ceremony.  Parents are invited to attend as well.  We will be celebrating from 7:45 to 12:30.  We will have plants for sale for gardens and other fun items that represent America!

Also in the planning—a Talent Show; End of Year Celebration; Science Field Experience at Snow Canyon;  Debate Exchange with college students;  Band, Choir and Orchestra Concerts; and a few other celebrations mixed in.  We try to find a nice balance between our focus on academics and providing students with activities that motivate and inspire them.

We would like to encourage students to “finish strong”.  Sometimes at this time of year, students get a little anxious for summer and start to miss school and/or don’t put forth the effort they need to succeed in school.  Please stay focused and dedicated to your studies.

We love working with each of you.  Each student brings something to our school that adds to our positive energy and culture.

Thank you.

Sandy Ferrell

Principal
